E. Michael Morris is one of the founders of Morris & Doherty, P.C. Since 1980, Mr. Morris has developed an extensive trial practice, including complex civil litigation with successful jury trials as lead counsel in numerous cases in state and federal courts. Lead trial and appellate counsel in John E. Green Company v. DBA, a complex construction case tried in Wayne County Circuit Court, resulting in $4,300,000 judgment that was affirmed by the Michigan Court of Appeals, with leave to appeal denied by the Michigan Supreme Court.

In 2005-2006, as lead counsel, successfully litigated and settled a Macomb County Circuit Court consumer rights/ contract class action involving more than 27,000 class members.

In 2001, as lead counsel, successfully litigated and settled a Wayne County Circuit Court class action on behalf of Michigan consumers as to alleged fraudulent business practices. Also obtained significant settlement for employee terminated for allegedly refusing to continue the practices.

Lead trial and appellate counsel in Anderson v McConville, et al., 150 F3d 392 (CA 6, 1998). The case was originally dismissed by the district court judge. The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit reversed. Upon remand and bench trial before Judge Gerald Rosen, a judgment in excess of $1,000,000 ERISA claims was entered.

Lead counsel in a very complex commercial case involving claims of negligence against former experts and professionals hired by Oscoda Township in connection with its participation in a regional water system. Successful in obtaining settlements totaling $1,475,000.

Lead trial counsel in a complex breach of fiduciary duties case against a corporate officers; upon jury trial, obtained judgment in excess of $900,000 in favor of client, as well as a verdict of zero damages on counterclaim against client.

Lead trial and appellate counsel in an Oakland County Circuit Court involving complex product liability/negligence issues; obtained $977,000 jury verdict and judgment in excess of $1,100,000.

Significant jury trial experience in extremely complex product liability cases in federal court in Rome, Georgia (lead counsel, 3-week trial); and in state courts in Lansing, Michigan (lead counsel, 8-week trial) and Neilsville, Wisconsin (co-counsel, 3-week trial).

Lead trial and appellate counsel in one of the leading cases involving the Michigan Consumer Protection Act, Temborious v. Slatkin, 157 Mich App 587 (1986).

Lead trial counsel in a Wayne County Circuit Court case involving misappropriated small business loan funds guaranteed by State of Michigan program; upon jury trial, obtained judgment in excess of $1,000,000.
